Jackie Don Vaughn Sr., 47, of Piggott died on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at his home.

He was born July 24, 1958, in Newport, Ore., the son of Donald Lou and Opal Mabelene Hart Vaughn.

He was united in marriage to Sheila Holifield on Feb. 21, 1978.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Lou on Jan. 11, 1968; and his mother, Opal on Feb. 23, 1996.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Vaughn of Piggott; one daughter, Machelle Dawn Ramsey of New Madrid, Mo.; one son, Jackie Don Vaughn Jr. of Piggott; one sister, Louise McMillian of Doniphan, Mo.; one brother, John Bradshaw of Rector; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Gary Laughlin and John Bradshaw officiating. Burial followed in the Gravel Hill Cemetery in St. Francis. Active pallbearers were Shane Holifield, Shawn Holifield, Darren Poe, Dennis Templeton, Jim Bob Diddle, Gaylon Dunlap, Burl Petty and Elvis Chavez. Honorary pallbearers were Marty Greaney, Steve Ford, Ronald Johnson, Brian Beck, Carl West and Larry Loveless.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
