Born Feb. 28, 1923, in Rector, he was a World War II Army veteran, served as Chief of Police in Rector and retired from the City of Monroe, La., Water Plant.
He was a member of Ambassador Baptist Church, Dannelly Masonic Lodge in Rector, Walker George Lodge #467 F&AM (where he was the duly elected Worshipful Master), Monroe Scottish Rite Bodies and Barak Shrine Temple. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Stewart Davis; daughters, Deleta Sue Gee, Carol Nale and husband Glenn, Sheila McGrew and husband Robby, and Lena Pike and husband Brian; sons, Jimmy W. Davis and wife Stephanie, Darol Davis, and Chris Davis; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of Louisiana.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe with Rev. Clarence Kelly officiating. Burial was in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Masons.
