Geraldene Venita Beal, 86, of Jonesboro, formerly of Rector, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

A homemaker, she was born Jan. 10, 1919, in Clay County to the late Robert and Lul Edwards Travillian. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Van Beal, who died in December 1986, and two brothers, Dewayne and Doyle Travillian.

Mrs. Beal had worked in retail sales. She was a member of the Rector First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Bonnie Beal of Jonesboro; two grandchildren, Kristy Scarbrough and Ginger Mason; four great-grandchildren, Morgan, Justin, Lauren and Logan; one brother, Jim Travillian of Rector, and three sisters, Neva Mowery of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Martene Davis of Rector and Lorene Gatewood of Kennett, Mo.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Rev. Larry Martineau and Rev. Darryl Kelly officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.

Pallbearers were Michael Travillian, Alvin Vangilder, Shane Mason, Chris Scarbrough, Ralph Seay, Reuben Seay, Justin Bedard, Darryl Kelly and Jim Kelly.

Irby Funeral Home of Rector was in charge of arrangements.
