Ray Goodman

Ray Goodman, 66, of Mannford, Okla., formerly of Rector, died Monday, July 25, 2005.

He was born March 21, 1939, in Rector to Pearl (Walker) and Harry Goodman.

He worked in Michigan before moving in 1982 to Oklahoma, where he founded Ray Goodman Custom Built Homes in 1984. Goodman became known for custom-built homes throughout the Mannford, Sand Springs and Cleveland, Okla., areas.

He was a member of the Tulsa Home Builders Association, the Sand Springs and Mannford Chambers of Commerce, the Church of Christ and the Lions Club.

For 22 years he was active in Mannford's Striped Bass Festival, serving as games chairman.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters, JoAnn Goodman, Vonna Lou Goodman, both in infancy, and Gleeda Reynolds, and four brothers, J.D., Al, Mearl and Rex.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline, of Mannford; one daughter, Diane Nance of Sand Springs; one son, David Goodman of Mannford; four sisters, F. Loreda Rippy of Marmaduke, Phyllis Skarakis of Lake Wales, Fla.., Faye Long of Paragould and Betty Skelton of Marion; three brothers, E.J. Goodman of Maumelle, Arkie Goodman of Pontiac, Mich., and Earl Goodman of St. Augustine, Fla., and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, July 29, at the Church of Christ in Mannford with Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
