Earl Richard Rice, 18, of Boydsville, died Wednesday, July 27, 2005, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.

Born Aug. 13, 1986, in Poplar Bluff to Richard Lee Rice and Annette Irene (Pearson) Rice, he was a student at Black River Vo- Tech in Pocahontas.

He was a graduate of Greene County Tech in Paragould, where he played football and baseball and was a member of the Air Force Junior ROTC for three years.

He loved to draw and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Corning.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Buford Pearson.

Survivors include his parents, Annette and Richard Rice of Boydsville; one brother, Danny Lee Rice of Boydsville; grandparents, Danny and Hilda Rice of Corning and Betty Pearson of Corning, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 31, at Ermert Funeral Home Chapel in Corning with Rev. Larry Wimberly, Rev. Carmon Miller and Rev. Richard Mahan officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery near Boydsville with Ermert Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
