Born Jan. 5, 1945, in Rector, to Henry D. and Virginia Gibbs Linam, he was a graduate of Marmaduke High School, owner and operator of Gerald's Repair Service, an avid fisherman and a member of Flagon Creek Bass Club. He also had worked as a repairman for Sears, served four years in the Air Force and was a member of Union Baptist Church in Deville.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Margaret Rush Linam; two daughters, LaDonna Linam Spivey of Pineville and Kimberly Linam Iles and husband Chris of Deville; parents, Henry D. and Virginia Gibbs Linam of Alexandria, La.; one brother and wife, Maurice and Marsha Linam of West Monroe, La.; one sister, Andrea Linam Hines and husband Richard of Lafayette, La.; four grandchildren, Gary Linam, Brooks Spivey, Sandra Spivey and Kaylee Iles, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers in Pineville with Rev. Blaine Ussery officiating, assisted by Rev. Tom Jordan. Rev. Phillip Robertson provided vocal selections. Interment was in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Richard Hines, Derrick Hines, Barrett Linam, Gary Linam, Chris Iles, Donald Ray Gibbs, Michael Kevin Ruch and Darrell Fuqua. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Flagon Creek Bass Club.
