C. Marie Rippy

C. Marie Rippy, 84, of Marmaduke died Thursday, May 26, 2005, at the Senath (Mo.) Nursing Home.

A homemaker, she was born Aug. 31, 1921, in Greene County to the late "Toby" Clarence Reddick and Alice Belle (Williams) Reddick. She was married Oct. 4, 1940, to Merl Rippy, who died March 27, 1986. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Reddick.

She was a member of the Marmaduke Church of Christ.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Ray Hale of Marmaduke; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Rippy Deffendall of Rives, Mo.; two brothers, Wilburn Reddick of Portia and Raymond Reddick of Marmaduke; two sisters, Norma Allison of Farmington, Mo., and Ida Underwood of Mountain Home; four grandchildren, Michael Rippy and his wife Julia of Marmaduke, Kelly Rippy and his wife Susie of Searcy, Jennifer Rippy of Paragould and Jessie Hale of Paragould, and seven great-grandchildren, Chelsea Rippy, Nicolas Rippy, Cody Hill, Jake Biard, Olivia Rippy, Taylor Boyd and Zoie Gregory.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 29, at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Marmaduke with Sam Jenkins officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector. Pallbearers were Kevin Rippy, Keith Morrow, Clovis Reddick, Bill Reddick, Joey Vinson and Tommy Jordon. Honorary pallbearer was John Reddick.
