He was born Aug. 29, 1910, in Bloomfield, Mo., to the late James and Rhoda Parmenter.
He was a retired cemetery sexton of Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector and a member of the Fifth and Pine Church of Christ.
He also was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Parmenter.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Don and Maxine Parmenter of Rector; one granddaughter and husband, Crystal and Tom Williams of Memphis, Tenn.; a half sister, Bertie Hardin Walker of Benton, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Friday, May 20, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Ken Roden and James McKeel officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Gene Parmenter, Todd Ford, Earl Clayton, Sonny Brown, Jerry Chillcutt and Scott Tracer.
