Eithel Marie Nelson, 86, of Jonesboro, formerly of Rector, died Friday, May 6, 2005, at Ridgecrest Health and Rehab in Jonesboro.

Born Dec. 7, 1918, in Knob to the late William Sherman Dortch and Anna Pearl (Lucy) Dortch, she was a homemaker and a member of Rector First United Methodist Church.

She also was preceded in death by two husbands, Howard Richard Baker and Murry Nelson; one daughter, Lois Janelle Baker; two brothers, James and Sidney Dortch, and three sisters, Lillie Butler, Edna Fields and Stella Taylor.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Paulett Baker of Poplar Bluff, Jerry and Brenda Nelson of Jonesboro, Bob and Carolyn Nelson of Jonesboro and Jim and Teressa Nelson of Hardy; three daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce June and Jerry LeGrand of Poplar Bluff, Shirley and Bill Shields of Mannford, Okla., and Kathy and Darwin Allbritton of Jonesboro; 19 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, May 8, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Rev. James Henry Dortch officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
