Amos Dalton Staggs, 69, of Rector died Sunday April 3, 2005, at his home.

Born Jan. 27, 1936, in Rector to the late Joe and Luvina Staggs, he worked for Emerson Electric, was a veteran and was of the Baptist faith.

He also was preceded in death by his first wife, Ava Sue Staggs; two infant daughters; two brothers, Walter Lee and Nubern Staggs, and one sister, Edith Langster.

Survivors include his wife, Annie B. Wayland Staggs of the home; three sons, Roy and Jeff Staggs of Rector and Wade Staggs of Seattle, Wash., and one grandchild, Atasha Sue Staggs of Rector.

Funeral sersvices were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Bro. Futrell Butler officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Rector with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Phillip Greenway, Gary Redman, Don Caldwell, Ivan Smart, Glen McKay and Dennis Wheeler. Honorary pallbearers were Alvie Chilcutt, Charlie Beck and Hewey Burdin.
