Johnny Giles Whittle, 70, of Piggott, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott.

He was born Sept. 30, 1934, in Holland, Mo., the son of the late Sam D. Whittle and Ethel Lena Barnes Whittle.

He was united in marriage to Patsy Davis on Sept. 22, 1985, in Steele.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Whittle.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Whittle of Piggott; two sons, Larry Coulson of Versailles, Mo., and George Jenkins of Fredericktown, Mo.; six daughters, Joy Tate of Piggott, JoAnn Miller of Clarksville, Mich., Patricia Flakes of Southaven, Ind., Kathy Thompson of Highland, Texas, Sherry Jordon of Versailles, Mo., and Mary Riley of Versailles, Mo.; one brother, Allan Smith of Davidson, Mich.; one sister, Barbara Norris of Troy, Mo.; 29 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett. McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett was in charge of the arrangements.
