He was born Nov. 15, 1919, in Rector, the son of the late Bynum and Teula (Perrin) Wells.
Mr. Wells had been a resident of Collinsville since 1949, after moving there from Fort Worth, Texas. He was retired from American Airlines and was a member of the Transport Workers Union of America. He loved farming, gardening and fishing. Mr. Wells was a Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, having served in World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Charlene (Clary) Wells; and one grandchild, Brian Crouch.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Mason Matheny of Bixby, Okla., and Anna and Shelby Crouch of Searcy; one brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Dorothy Wells of Greenway; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at the Church of Christ in Collinsville, Okla. Burial followed in Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville.
Collinsville Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
