Sherry Hope Rose
Sherry Hope Rose, 53, of Berry Creek, Calif., formerly of Rector, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, in Stockton, Calif.

She was born in Kennett, Mo., and lived in the Rector area as a young girl. Her family later moved to the Los Angeles area and in 1968 to Stockton. She was married Sept. 27, 1969, in Salida, Calif., to Ron Rose, who survives. They made their home in Stockton and later moved to Sacramento for a brief time. In 1978, they moved to Oroville, Calif., and then to Berry Creek in 1980, where they built a home and raised their family.

She was a member of the Salida Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother, family get-togethers, singing church songs and making macrame plant holders.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles H. Horton; one sister, Robin Horton, and one brother, Kevin Horton.

Survivors include her husband, Ron Rose of Berry Creek; one son, Roman Matthew Rose of Oroville; two daughters, Catina Domingo of Oroville and Jennifer Rose of Lodi, Calif.; four grandchildren, Dakota Rose, Megan, Caitlin and Bailey Domingo; her mother, Pauline Horton of Marmaduke; brothers, Devon Horton and Joe Horton of Marmaduke, Darrell Horton of Lockeford, Calif., Corey Horton of Acampo, Calif.; three sisters, Faith Sellers and Paula Horton of Marmaduke and Shelley Fikes of Stockton, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, in Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi with Pastor Charles Pardon officiating. Burial followed at the cemetery with Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
