He worked as chief deputy with the Crittenden County Sheriff's Department and retired after 40 years with the Arkansas State Police. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian F. Cooper; a son, Case Cooper of Destin, Fla.; two brothers, Edmund Cooper and Jerry Cooper, both of Olive Branch, Miss., and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8, at the First Baptist Church in Marion. Burial was in Crittenden Memorial Park. Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of West Memphis was in charge of arrangements.
