Avis Lavern Price, 82, of Senath Nursing Center, formerly of Rector, died Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

She was born June 28, 1922, in Clay County to the late Eliaphus Andrew Edwards and Addie (Futen) Edwards. She was a homemaker, a member of the Rector First General Baptist Church and a member of the Rector Extension Homemakers Club.

She also was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Price; one son, Garry Price; one daughter, Shelia (Price) Faries; two grandchildren, Jon Faries and Kelly Leighann Price; three brothers, Gene Edwards, Dutch Edwards and Marvin Edwards, and three sisters, Hazel Johnson, Pauline Lamb and Ella Gregory.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, John Earl and Marilyn Price of Lafe and Keith and Robin Price of Paragould; one sister, Martha Jane Kennedy of Rector, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Bro. Marston Carpenter officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Mike Price, Kenny Walker, Eric Price, Matt Faries, Corey Price and Jared Price.
