Essie Lewis, 85, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., a native of Boydsville, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004.

She was born Dec. 12, 1919, in Boydsville to the late General Deniston and Sarah Ethel Wright Deniston.

She was a member of the East Haven Baptist Church, a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Lewis is survived by her husband of 63 years, Fred Lewis; three daughters, Phyllis and husband Ken Evans of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Patricia and husband Allen Griffith of Myerstown, Pa., and Pamela and husband Paul Snyder of West Chester, Pa., and one sister, Phyllis Cate of Rector.

A memorial service was held at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1. Burial was in Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Broomall, Pa.
