He was born Sept. 13, 1942, in St. Louis to the late Owen and Marjina Franks.
He was the owner of Franks Transmission Repair in Marmaduke, a farmer, a retired postal employee, a board member of Harvey's Chapel Cemetery and a former board member of Delta Cotton Co-op. He was a member of the Marmaduke First Baptist Church.
He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Tonya Franks Beasley.
Survivors include one grandson, Ryan Beasley of Marmaduke; one granddaughter and her husband, Amber and Jake Rodden of Paragould; one great-grandchild, Treyson Rodden, of the home; a special friend, Linda Turner of Manila; two double cousins, Joyce Vallentine of Paragould and Mary Ann Hamelback of St. Charles, Mo., four aunts and three uncles.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, at Marmaduke First Baptist Church with Bro. Kim Bridges officiating. Burial was in Harvey's Chapel Cemetery in Marmaduke with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Doyne Shaw, Darrell Smoot, Tommy Clubb, Charles Bridges, Joe Vangilder, Danny Barnhart, Ben Whitaker and Foy Gilliam.
Honorary pallbearers were Doyne Webb, Wayne Walls and Glen Freeman.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Marmaduke First Baptist Church or to the individual's choice.
