Martha Jean Poppe, 76, died Aug. 6, 2004, at her home in Dearborn, Mich., after losing a battle with cancer.

She was born Feb. 21, 1928, in Leonard, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ira G. Woodward.

She was married to Victor Poppe after graduating from Rector High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; and two sons, Ronald Wesley and Randal Lynn Poppe.

Survivors include two sisters, Norma Dean Jenkins of Marmaduke and Glenda Gambrel of Huntington, W. Va.; three brothers, Edward Lavern "Buddy" Woodward of Paragould, Deverl "Jack" Woodward of Lincoln Park, Mich., and Ira Gilbert Woodward of Jefferson City, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Gail Poppe; three granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at Voran Funeral Home with burial at United Memorial Garden Cemetery in Taylor, Mich.
