Eva Freeda Eaton, 78, died Aug. 19, 2004, in El Paso, Texas, after a lengthy illness.

She was born Feb. 6, 1926, in Rector to Jim and Eva Jane Kennedy. She was married to Cecil W. Eaton in 1942. He preceded her in death in 2002.

She is survived by five sons, David Eaton, Larry M. Eaton and wife Nina, all of El Paso, Texas, Richard and Darlene Eaton of Huntsville, Ala., Tony and Emy Eaton of Stafford, Va., and Robert and Martha Eaton of Las Cruces, N.M.; one sister, Charlene Kennedy of Rector, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 23, at Desert View United Church of Christ with Rev. Carol Creitz officiating. Burial was in Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home-West in charge of arrangements.
