William Alfred "Al" Sparks

William Alfred "Al" Sparks, 73, of Rector died Thursday, June 17, 2004. He was born May 20, 1931, in Post, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ara (Robinson) Sparks, and two grandchildren, Jeffrey Scott and Shelby Raylene Ward.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Ann (Faught) Sparks of the home; six sons, Alfred Glenn and William Scott Sparks, Stanley Ray, Richard Neal, Jeffrey Scott and Gregory Ross Ward; four daughters, Samantha Jolene Sparks, Lori Fay Fry, Sherry Ann Priest and Teresa Gail Myers; 21 grandchildren, Chrystal Lucy, Deborah Bearden, Tiffany Priest, Samantha Wright, Randi, Mary Nicholas, Diana, Jason, Nathan, Dillon, Dustin, Nathan, Ethen and Tara Ward, Chad Fry, Megan Sparks, Scott Sparks, Jarred Sparks, Jacob Sparks and Preston Sparks; one great-grandchild, Joshua Scott Bowen; one brother, Raymond Eugene Sparks; one sister, Leveta Jewell Wells, and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19, in the Irby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Futrell Butler officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery with Irby Funeral Home of Rector in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Pete Dowdy, John Estes, Jerry Don Nixon, Jackie McNeely, Jeff Ward, Reuben Hutchinson, Stan Quinn and Dennis Banks.
