Troy Elbert Morris, 70, of Shawnee, Okla., a native of Marmaduke, died Saturday, May 22, 2004, at Midwest Regional Medical Center in Midwest City, Okla., after a long battle with cancer.

He was born Aug. 9, 1933, in Marmaduke to the late Bennie Wayne Morris and Iva Learn Morris.

He was a 21-year veteran of the Army, serving in Korea and Vietnam.

He also was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Fisk of Corning.

Survivors include his wife, Vurlene Morris of Shawnee; one son and one daughter and their spouses, Bennie and Sondra Morris of Owasso, Okla., and Kim and Jeff Green of McLoud, Okla.; five grandchildren, Brett Morris, Molly Morris, Brandi Caban and husband Mike Caban, Kristen Green and Zachary Green, and sisters Bernice Pritchett of Seabring, Fla., and Roma Robertson of Bakersfield, Calif.

Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, at the Dale Cemetery with Mark Patterson officiating.
