Beverly Jean (Cossey) Easton

Beverly Jean (Cossey) Easton, age 52, of Fayetteville, a native of Rector, died Feb. 2, 2004, in the Washington Regional Medical Center at Fayetteville after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Feb. 26, 1951, in Rector to Lola Grace Cossey and the late Bobby Gene Cossey. She grew up in the Rector area and was a 1969 graduate of Rector High School, where she was the 1969 Homecoming Queen.

She was employed as a medical claims specialist for Northwest Arkansas Internal Medicine and was a member of Christian Life Cathedral of Fayetteville, where she was active in the ladies' ministry.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Elic and Margie Sanders, and paternal grandparents, Harry and Mabel Cossey.

Survivors include her mother, Lola Grace Cossey, of Rector; a son and daughter-in-law, Shad and Somer Easton, a daughter and son-in-law, Neeley and James Robert Williams, and two granddaughters, Emma Grace Easton and Jansen Nicole Williams, all of Fayetteville; a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Sherry Cossey of Rector; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandy and Tony Varvil of Paragould and Kim and Michael Bradford of Allen, Okla.; seven nephews, two nieces, three great-nephews, four great-nieces and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Feb. 6 at Christian Life Cathedral with Pastor Steve Dixon and Rev. Michael Bradford officiating. A slide show presented lifetime memories as the song "Just Be There" by Karen Wheaton was played. A favorite song, "I Can Only Imagine", was performed by nephews Jordan and Isaac Bradford, a special poem and the song "Amazing Grace" were given by friend Kitty Mounce, and "The Lord's Prayer" was sung a cappella by friend Keithan Williams.

Pallbearers were Brandon Bracken, Tyler Pitts, Jordan Bradford, Luke Spoon, Justin Williams, Lucky Chambers, Keithan Williams and Jerry Mounce.

Honorary pallbearers were Micah Chambers, Lee Stringfellow, Rex Williams, Tony Varvil and Ken Pitts.

Burial was in Fairview Memorial Gardens at Fayetteville with Nelson-Berna Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of arrangements.
