He was born April 24, 1920, in Paragould to the late Albert and Addie Bolen Winn. He graduated from Alexander High School in Paragould. He married Jean Rodgers on April 1, 1943, in Kennett.
He served in the Army and retired after 27 years. He served in Italy during World War II. He received the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Ribbon, World War II Victory Ribbon, American Theatre Ribbon and the European Theatre Ribbon. He retired from civil service at Fort Sill in 1982 after 10 years of service. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and the adult men's Sunday School class.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, James P. Winn; one daughter, Shirley G. Wiggins, four brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Jean, of the home; one daughter, Linda S. Clary of Allen, Texas; one son, retired Maj. Keith A. Winn and wife, Kim, of Portland, Ore.; one son-in-law, John Wiggins of Irving, Texas; three sisters, Pat Lee of Paragould, Marcella Mott of Rockport, Texas, and Mary Finley of Torrance, Calif.; two brothers, Irvin Winn of Maripose, Calif., and Joe Winn of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Sheri Frazier and husband, Bob, of Allen, Texas, Jason Clary of San Francisco and Stephanie Winn of Portland, Ore.
Funeral services were Tuesday, March 30, at Becker Memorial Chapel in Lawton with Rev. Bob Lee of Paragould officiating. Burial was in Post Cemetery at Fort Sill with full military honors.
