A farmer, he was born May 11, 1939, in Greene County to the late Ovel and Annie (Clayton) Parrish. He was married Sept. 27, 1958, to Dorothy Sue Cavaness Parrish.
He was a lifelong resident of this area and a charter member of White Oak General Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Dot) Parrish, of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Allie Dale and Vanessa Parrish of Rector; one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Keith DeFries of Marmaduke; four brothers, Buddy Parrish and Don Parrish of Rector, Earl Parrish of Marmaduke and Jimmy Parrish of Lafe; one sister, Louise Vivrette of Paducah, Ky.; six grandchildren, Misty, Allie Michelle, Addie Dayle, Ashley, Derek and Shana, and one great-granddaughter, Emma Alivia.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, at White Oak General Baptist Church with Bro. James Henry Dortch and Bro. Sam Book officiating. Burial was in Harvey's Chapel Cemetery in Marmaduke with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Neil Stallings, Bob Ransom, Chad Agee, Steve Simmons, Ronnie Jones and Eddie Williams.
Honorary pallbearers were Weldin Wimberley, Lynn Wimberley, Anthony Dowdy, Aaron Harmon, Burrell Rogers and Hoss Scott.
