Betty Dowd Thomas Moss, 73, of Monette, formerly of the Blue Cane community near Rector, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She was born July 6, 1930, in St. Louis to the late Everett and Sylvia Dowd. She also was preceded in death by her first husband, Euless Thomas; her second husband, Mr. Moss,and one son, Troy Thomas.

She was retired from Anchor Packaging and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three sons, Ricky Thomas, Tracy Thomas and Dennis Thomas; two uncles, J.B. Ward of Rector and Vernon Ward of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and a good friend, Stella Morris of Rector.

A memorial service was held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. March 13, at the Mayo Ditch in the Blue Cane community to scatter ash remains. Bro. James Henry Dortch officiated. Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector was in charge of arrangements.
