Hershel Lee Wilson

Hershel Lee Wilson, 88, of Paragould, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at Regional Medical Center of Northeast Arkansas.

He was born Nov. 16, 1915, in Clay County to the late Elmer and Carrie Wilson. He was a retired farmer and a member of Center Hill Church of Christ.

He also was preceded in death by two sons, Stanley Wilson and Randall Wilson; one daughter, Peggy Burleigh; one grandson, C. Leslie Barrett; three brothers, Leon Wilson, Cloyce Wilson and Ira Wilson, and one sister, Patsy Crouch.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Wilson, of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Phyllis Sonney of Houston, Texas, and Beverly and Melvin Sonney of Paragould, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 25) at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Paragould with Gary Cremeens and Jon Brinkley officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Edward Gardner, Ed Jernigan, Dale Vangilder, R.V. Wesley, Phil Wilson and Bill Schatzley.

Honorary pallbearers are Calvin Douglas, Harlan Crouch, Vernon Lacey, Jim Lee, Leon Hatcher and Allen Bullinger.

Memorials may be made to the Children's Home of Paragould and the American Diabetes Association.
