Jasper Otis Merideth

Jasper Otis Merideth, 76, of Rector, died Sunday Feb. 22, 2004.

He was born Sept. 27, 1927, in Rector to the late Enon Thomas and Ada Merideth.

He was a carpenter, a veteran of the Korean War and a member of Rector First General Baptist Church.

He also was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene R. Merideth.

Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Jenks of Rector; four sisters, Jeanette Floyd, Christian Arnold and Jewel Crawford, all of Rector, and Florence Riggs of Bristal, Ind.; three grandchildren, Brandon Merideth, Paulita Wolfenbarger and Michele Jenks, and six great-grandchildren, Lyric Martinez, Ramiro Martinez, Jonathan Merideth, Jasa Merideth, Jayden Bullinger and Kiana Wolfenbarger.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 25) at the First General Baptist Church in Rector with Bro. Kenny Burns officiating. Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery at Greenway with Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers were Anthony Stanley, Alan Burdin, William Jackson, Darrell Arnold, Curtis Reed and Jason Wolfenbarger. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Scott and Steve Lyles.
