Blanche J. Calvin, 91, of Rector died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She was born Feb. 7, 1913, in Halliday to the late Lewis McLain and Addie (Boling) McLain. She was a housewife and of the Methodist faith.

She also was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Calvin; one daughter, Marion "Jill" Calvin, two brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Jack Calvin and C. Joseph Calvin, both of Rector; three daughters, Donna McGovern of Natchez, Miss., Patricia Ann Vangilder of Ferriday, La., and Karen Susan King of Houston, Texas; a special granddaughter, Leah Adams of Jonesboro, and 13 other grandchildren, Michael Underwood, Courtney Calvin, Kaycee Glasgow, Todd Calvin, Paul Calvin, Colette King, J. Bob King, Pamela King, Shane King, Tresa Vangilder, Robin Booth, Jason Vangilder and Jana Ingram.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Rev. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Michael Underwood, Todd Calvin, Paul Calvin, Jason Vangilder, Derek Adams and Tracy Glasgow.
