Wilma Johnson

Wilma Johnson, 88, of Marmaduke died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

A homemaker and lifelong resident of this area, she was born March 30, 1915, in Rector to the late Lee and Lydia Benson. She was married to Gilbert Johnson, who died in March 1992.

She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Clyde Benson, Ghuyraine Benson and Glessner Benson, and one sister, Velma Beaton. She was a member of Cappadocia General Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Walter Lange Jr. of Paragould, and three grandchildren, Courtney Lange of Little Rock, Erica Lange of Paragould and Josh Lange of Neosho, Mo.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Bro. Ronnie Stevens officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Irby Funeral Home of Rector in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers were Mike Benson, Michael Vowell, Gary Richey, Jeremy Richey, Terry Johnson and Aaron Speer. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Hardin, Thomas Lamb, Donald Priest, Jerry Don McIntosh, Max Nelson and Virgil Robinson.
