A retired beautician, she was born July 26, 1919, in Rector to the late Sylvester and Adelia Hampton. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Gaylon, Lewis and Doyle Hampton, and one sister, Pauline Smart.
She was a member of the Rector First Baptist Church, where she served several years as Sunday School secretary.
Survivors include three nieces, Cathy Williams of Fort Smith, Chris Sullivan of West Memphis and Karen Campbell of Memphis, Tenn.; three grand nephews and four grand nieces, and two special caretakers, Judy Leach and Gloria Brown, both of Rector.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Ardell Polk and Rev. Kenny Burns officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.
Active pallbearers will be Steve Sullivan, Kenny Campbell, Adam Sullivan, Michael Bailey and Kevin Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be Hulen Reddick, Reuben Seay and Doyne Webb. Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector is in charge of arrangements.
