She was born Nov. 25, 1919, in Marmaduke to the late Luther and Oather (Hill) Starnes.
She was in the medical field, a lifelong member of the community and a member of Marmaduke First United Methodist Church.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Hoggard, and two brothers, James Otis Starnes and Phineas ("Pint") Starnes.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Marshall Eugene Hoggard of Jackson, Tenn., and Jerry L. and Venda Hoggard of Paragould; two daughters and one son-in-law, Faye Holland of Alexandria, Va., and Kay and Randy Holland of Marmaduke; one brother, Dr. C. Wayne Starnes of Little Rock; five sisters, Anna B. Staires of Sullivan, Mo., Learline Campbell, Pauline Baker and Helen Hass, all of Flint, Mich., and Sue Gainey of St. Charles, Mo., six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Marmaduke with Willyne Thompson officiating.
Burial was in Hartsoe Cemetery west of Marmaduke with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Charles Jamison, Lindell Stallings, Danny Dortch, Larry Joe Miller, James Huckabay, Lawrence Hamilton, Maurice Hamilton and Ronald Stephen.
