Born Feb. 12, 1940, in Walcott, he lived in the Rector area all of his life and served the community as a mechanic and service station operator for many years. He was of the General Baptist faith. He was married Jan. 11, 1963, to the former Joan Evans.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Frankie (Smith) Greenway; one brother, Webb Greenway, and two grandsons, Craig Greenway and Tanner Allman.
Surviving family members are his wife of 41 years, Joan (Evans) Greenway of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Angie Greenway of Paragould; three daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and Keith Curtis of Collierville, Tenn., Kay and Brent Simpson of Olive Branch, Miss., and Leiann and Scott Allman of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Paige Bradberry, Shelby Greenway, Kyle Allman, Blair Simpson, Taylor Curtis, Makayla Allman and Jase Greenway; one brother, Donnie Greenway of Rector, and three sisters, Clara Ann Highfill, Sue Harris and Neva Kirkpatrick, all of Rector.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at Irby Funeral Home in Rector. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenny Burns officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Walcott.
Pallbearers will be Stan McMillin, Bob Wagster, Donnie Greenway, Harry Highfill, Sam Boyd, Greg Bohr and Michael Snyder.
