Roy McCormick, 86, of Bunker, Mo., formerly of Piggott, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at Three Rivers Hospital in Poplar Bluff.

He was born Aug. 20, 1917, in Piggott to the late Luther McCormick and Leona (Ort) McCormick. He was a retired custodian for the school and a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois (Alger) McCormick, two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include one step-son, Everett Church of Missouri; one daughter, Kay Burkeen, of Wentzville, Mo.; one brother, Paul McCormick, of Michigan; two sisters, Margie Arnold of Campbell and Sally Ort of Illinois, five grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel with Tony Woods officiating. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were friends of the family.
