Rev. Edward Lee (Ed) Long

Rev. Edward Lee (Ed) Long, 44, died Nov. 1, 2003, in a motorcycle accident in Killeen, Texas.

A resident of Copperas Cove, Texas, he was pastor of Bethel Assembly of God Church in Killeen.

He was born Dec. 15, 1958, in Long Beach, Calif., and was raised in Arkansas and Texas. He was a well-known minister of the Texas District and had lived in Killeen for the last 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlie and Erma Tally of Rector and Robert Lee and Lillian Long of Marmaduke.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; one son, Bobby; one daughter, Rebecca, of the home; his parents, Bobby and Charlene Long of Paragould; one sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Dennis Wing of Fort Smith; one brother, Gene Long of California; one niece, Heather Wing of Fort Smith, and several aunts and uncles, Myrtle Ferguson and Norman and Louise Shelton, all of Rector, Louie and Betty Cordell of Kennett, Donna Edwards, Lottie Blackshare, Marcie and Faye Long, all of Paragould, Dortha Byrd of Fort Smith and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held at Christian House of Prayer in Killeen with Rev. Elwyn Johnson and Rev. Louie Cordell officiating along with several other ministers.
