Geneva Pruett, 77, of Rector died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at Rector Health Care.

She was born Feb. 17, 1926, in the Ebenezer Community.

She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Laverne A.J. Pruett; her father and mother, Omer and Callie Shannon; one son, Ronnie Pruett; and one sister, Opal Thompson.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Glenda Pruett and Joey and Janice Pruett, all of Rector; one daughter and son-in-law, Deana and Perry Mills of Rector; one brother, Orlie Shannon of Jonesboro, Ill.; one sister, Mary Layer of Jonesboro, Ark.; six grandchildren, Letecia Dooley, Amy Ward, Nathan Mills, Sarah Howell, Matt Mills and Kyle Pruett, all of Rector; four great-grandchildren, Ariel and Evan Dooley, Shelby Ward and Ashlyn Mills, all of Rector.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at the First Baptist Church in Rector with Ardell Polk and Kenny Burns officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery with Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Dennis Layer, Eugene Layer, Bobby Tracer, Mark Book, Bob Mansfield and Mike Vinson.

Honorary pallbearers were Curtis Shannon, Dennis Wheeler and J.G. Dooley.
