Goldie L. Elam

Goldie L. Elam, 85, of Memphis, formerly of Rector, passed away Oct. 24, 2003 in Memphis.

She was born June 4, 1918 to the late John and Bertha Patten, and was a 1937 graduate of Rector High School.

A long time resident of Rector, she moved to Memphis in 1967 and was employed by Ace Appliance Company for 23 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of Central North Church in Bartlett, Tenn.

Her parents, five brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

She is survived by one daughter, Shirley J. (Elam) Patton of Memphis; one granddaughter, Amanda J. (Patton) Spikes of Memphis; one great grandchild, Gideon C. Spikes; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday Oct. 27, at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Memphis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
