Snow! Snow! Snow!Posted Thursday, February 11, 2010, at 12:50 PM
Snow, snow and more snow. It is really beautiful, isn't it? No, I am not going to complain. It may be cold and damp, but there are no lines falling down or branches breaking and we are not exactly buried. It is winter, after all. So let's see who can build the best snowman and enjoy the snow days.
How about that Super Bowl! What a game, right? Both teams played like the champions they are. I was sort of glad to see the Saints win. They were definitely due a super bowl win and they earned the title yesterday. Just a reminder that the First United Methodist Church is still assembling health kits to send to Haiti. If you want to help you can bring the following items to the church in a gallon plastic bag: 1 hand towel (not kitchen towel), 1 washcloth, 1 nail file or nail clipper, 1 bath size bar of soap, 6 adhesive bandages and $1 for toothpaste. Call 595-2552 or 595-1244 for more information. Another reminder. There will be a Rhodes/ Morris Family reunion show at the Collins Theater in Paragould on Friday. It should be a great show. It has been more than 10 years since they performed together. The show starts at 7:00 pm. Have you eaten at the new Olive Garden Restaurant in Jonesboro yet? I hear there is usually a wait. I met with Paula Benton, Georgia Sallee, Jessie Malin and Lane Wozniak there last week. The highlight of the experience was watching Jessie, Lane and Paula get carded when they ordered wine. Yes they look at the birth date regardless of the amount of gray hair you are sporting. I only missed out on the experience because I was driving and only had coffee. I intend to try again, though. It has been a really long time since I have been carded. A really long time and I was carded until I was in my 30's. I know this is short, but it is all I have for today. Besides, it is snowing again and I want to go outside and play. Let me know what's happening with you. Give me a call or email me to let me know what is happening. My address is 514 West 3rd St. Phone: (870) 595-3173 and email: porchswing@newwavecomm.net. I want to know and share your news. Thank you so much for all your emails and phone calls. I love hearing from you. Keep our soldiers in your prayers. |
