Power of Positive ThoughtPosted Monday, April 13, 2009, at 10:35 PM
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. All the churches were full and we know that creates an awful lot of positive energy. It is also one of those days that bring families and friends together. More positive energy. We were all rewarded by having the rain hold off until mid afternoon.
I have to believe that positive energy played a part in the rescue of Capt. Phillips. Modern technology enables news to travel worldwide these days in a matter of minutes. One of the positives of this is that more people have an opportunity to say a prayer and that is the most positive energy. Passover has also been observed this past week. It also brings people together and celebrates new beginnings and renewal. This is a truly blessed time as our part of the world begins to awaken and prepare for the growing season. A farming community is the best place to experience Spring. Ms. Cleta Simmons had Easter visitors. Her daughter Rosie Hayes and her husband Tom spent the weekend with Ms. Cleta. Mr and Mrs. Jeremy Hayes from Nashville were there and Mr. and Mrs. Adam Birch, with their children, Gracen and Whit also came from Nashville. Josh Wozniak spent the Easter holiday with his mother Lane. It was his second visit to Rector, the first being when he helped Lane move here during the hottest July I can remember. It's been hard to convince him that our weather is not always near the boiling point. Silly boy! Our weather is not "always" anything. Right? Lane honored him with a little get together at her house on Saturday night. Let's see, there was Georgia Salle, Pastor Bell, Reno Smith, Jessie Malin, Terry Shultz, Demetra Shultz, Nancy Kemp, Paula Benton, Cathy Louder, Meagan Louder, me and of course, Lane and Josh. If he minded being the only guy there, he didn't show it. I am always amazed that this group can get so loud when we are all together. It is always the laughter that blasts everyone out. Of course non of our funny stories can be shared outside the sacred circle. Sunday afternoon Lane and Josh left for Cotter to do some fishing and see some more of Arkansas. She will take him to the airport Tuesday. They will get to see some the Ozark beauty. I hope they get to enjoy some sunshine too. I hear that Nicole Beacham Benson is doing well. She is still on bed rest, but all systems are go. Keep those prayers going for her. She only has a few more weeks to go. Jessica Earls is also doing well. There is talk that Little Tillie Rose may not wait until May to make her appearance. Georgia Sallee served Easter dinner to her family Sunday. Marshall and Natalie Sigsby were here from ASU. Karla Richardson came from Memphis. Rick Harvey was there as were Lark and Stephen Sigsby from right here in Rector. Wayne Rousell made a short visit to Rector to do some work on their house here. He and Sandra are really enjoying their new life in Richmond, Indiana. At the last minute Sandra decided she was unable to make the trip with Wayne. They have recently launched a new project in Richmond, Fresh Start Housing. They provide housing and assistance to Foster Children who have aged out of the system. I enjoy hearing from you. Please let me know what is going on with you these days. I will share the news. My address is 514 West 3rd St. Phone: (870) 595-3173 and email: porchswing@newwavecomm.net.
