Feels like ChristmasPosted Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at 7:54 PM
It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! I am writing this on Monday as we await the dropping temperatures and rain that promise to glaze us over with ice. Not my favorite kind of weather even though I am basically a winter person. I would be much happier with a nice pretty snowfall. I hope every stays safe and warm.
But not to dwell on the negative. Santa must really like us here! He came to our parade and town party and then here he was again on Saturday for breakfast. And I have heard that he has been visiting all the churches. We must really have some good children here. Are you all being as good as possible these days? I hope so. There were certainly a lot of good little children at the pancake breakfast last Saturday. And they kept busy as well. There was much on which to bounce and bounce, they did. Face painting was available too and pancakes, eggs, sausage and bacon. Yummy! Then there was quality time with the jolly old gentleman in front of the Christmas tree. Thank you, Lions Clubbers! Fun and Delicious! More positives! Our soldiers are still coming home. Thank goodness. We welcome each and every one of you. Thank you so much for your service. Now enjoy a little peace on earth and have a merry Christmas. Heads up. You will soon see Billy Stone in town for a few days. He too is home from Iraq, but only for Christmas leave. Look for him. He will be around. BK Farley and Brantley Terry will also be home for Christmas. Welcome home, men. We appreciate all you have done and will be asked to do for all of us. We love you. So we are all going to have much to celebrate this year in addition to the birthday of Jesus Christ. Keep in mind His many lessons while we pray for peace. Remember we can all choose peace within our own hearts and homes. The Jewish holiday of Hanukkah starts on December 21. We can help to celebrate that as well. Regardless, this is a time for love and peace and acceptance. Well, this is all I have today. Let me know who is coming into town over the holidays. Give me a call or send me an email to let me know what is going on. My phone number is 595-3173 or you can drop me a note at 514 West 3rd St. My email address is: porchswing@newwavecomm.net. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! Peace and Love to us all. |
