The Wedding the WeddingPosted Saturday, October 4, 2008, at 9:40 PM
This week, it is all about the wedding! Congratulations, Pamela and Matt! What a beautiful wedding and what a beautiful couple. I wish you all the happiness in your new life that you can possibly know. Never forget the things that made you fall in love in the first place. Congratulations again Matt and Pamela Mills.
Those without the pleasant distraction of the wedding have probably been focused on the economic crisis. It does seem to have gotten a lot of attention. Finally! Did any of you see this coming? I know I did and I can't imagine why those with the power have been so blind to it. No, I don't think they are stupid enough to not see what was happening. I think they thought you and I were naive enough to be lead into the dark closet of denial. Is it just me or do you too feel slightly uncomfortable letting these same people prop up the shaky economy from the top down with the hope that the benefits will trickle down to "the rest of us"? Be sure to get out and vote. Demetra Shultz had a birthday last week! Now she has done this before. She is somewhat experienced at birthdays, (I am not telling you how many) but we still want to wish her a belated happy day. How about that football team! Great game last Friday! Don't forget that homecoming is this Friday. Let's all go cheer them on. Do it again, boys. Let's go on to victory! Carol Stone was in town for several days. You may not have seen much of her she spent a lot of time just kicking back and enjoying the ambience of Rector. She did spend some time with her mother, Rita Frenkle in Marmaduke. She spent time with her daughters, Mary and Hope too. And we got together a couple of times. Rita also celebrated her birthday last week, with Carol's help and the help of granddaughters Mary Small and Hope Ermert. They were also joined by Mary's husband, Lindell. Happy birthday, Rita. Okay we threw a small fit when China sent us lead painted toys and poisoned pet food and unsafe safety devices for our children. And we dodged the baby formula carcinogens, but people! Now is it chocolate! We can no longer feel safe eating chocolate made in China. When are we just going to stop buying things from them? Well, I know this is short but I have run out of things to tell you and this isn't the proper forum to bore you with politics or depress you anymore with economic ranting. So I will go watch the stock market fall and wait for you to call me and tell me what goes on with you. Just give me a call or send me an email. My phone number is 595-3173 or you can drop me a note at 514 West 3rd St. My email address is: porchswing@newwavecomm.net. Go Cougars!!!!! |
Christa is proud to call herself a Rector native having been born here. After living elsewhere, she just couldn't stay away! She has now lived in Rector for over 14 years. During this time, Christa has been very active in the community and is the one to go to for current happenings in the area.
