Barbara are you of the McKeel basketball and coaching dynasty?
Jean Paul Hawkins
Jean,
Barbara currently is on a nine-day church mission trip to Catacamas, Honduras. However, I am sure she would love to get more information from you about your family as she is the 'resident' historian here at the Democrat! We hope to see her history column and other writings appear in her new blog (http://www.claycountydemocrat.com/blogs/1209/) soon after she returns.
We'll be sure to bring your comment to her attention.
Just didn't want you to think you were being ignored.

Thanks Brad. I am looking forward to communicating with Barbara. Hopefully I can communicate directly with her via e-mail. Are you allowed to give out her e-mail address? I sent her an e-mail with an address given to me by the Democrat that was not certain to be a viable address. If it did go thru she is not there to receive it. Thanks for letting me know that she is out of the country.
Jean P. Hawkins
Jean:
Barbara is the daughter of the late Les McKeel, indeed one of the members of, as you say, the McKeel basketball and coaching dynasty.
Ron Kemp
Hi Jean Paul,
I have responded to your e-mail on the "Democrat blog", to your private address.
Barbara McKeel
Jean Paul,
The private e-mail that I sent you today, did not get to you. Please e-mail me at:

My husband and I are looking to start a family, and we are trying to follow God's will for us...we feel we are being led to Marmaduke...
We have visited the town and hope that God opens up a job opportunity, he has met with an employer in town and we are praying and holding to God's will. Please pray for us, as we have found the town to be very beautiful and the people very friendly.
Thanks!
all this hoop-a-la about gasahol is a joke, today the farmers can make a $ the corn equipmt. mfrs. make$,as usual the poor folk, pay the price when all the dust settles. Why not solar-wind-water power,or h.h.o or create financing for solar panels or wind generators for homes thanks..thanks JLM.
Obiter dictum.
I guess evolution is a fact, because people are evolving ribs around that new "vital organ" the cell phone.
This talking mania seems similar to the Biting Mania: A 15th-century epidemic of a mass psychogenic illness in which the compulsive urge to bite people spread among groups throughout Germany, Holland, and Italy.
I'm sure there'll soon be a TV program called: This Old Mouth. :)
Yes, I may be the first guest on This Old Mouth.
Hello, I am Tylee Tracer. I am a 2005 graduate of Rector High School. I just wanted to tell everyone how excited I am to get to work at the Jonesboro Sun! I am majoring in photojournalism at ASU and I got a part- time job there! Every one of my teachers and bosses have asked where I am from and I proudly say Rector, Arkansas! They usually reply, "Oh, that's where the Clay County Democrat is. Do you know Ron and Nancy Kemp?" I of course reply yes. I never knew how much work went in to a newspaper till now. I just wanted to say, Great Job!
