Hitting the Hardwood

It's time for basketball! Get you popcorn and grab a courtside seat, as another exciting year of Cougar and Lady Cougar basketball is set to begin.

For each of the past few seasons, I've still found myself amazed at how outstanding a gym we have here in Rector. Even though I've been to countless games since the gym was built, it still impresses me each time I arrive for a contest.

To put it simply: our school did it right. We built a nice facility which meets all requirements and standards for our youth and community to enjoy. Our seating is beyond belief for a 2A school. Other schools have made some decisions with which I strongly disagree -such as offering stadium seats only to persons who purchase season tickets- but our administration and school board did it right, providing high quality seating for the entire home section and much of the visitors' side.

The quality surroundings are really topped off by the talented young men and women who entertain us on the court. I think each of our teams has the ability to compete with just about anyone, guaranteeing a season which will provide non-stop entertainment
