No dust to settlePosted Thursday, April 9, 2009, at 9:15 AM
Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the number of rainy days increases each spring.
While I'm typically fond of rain personally, I find myself loathing it during the high school softball and baseball seasons. I can almost guarantee at the start of each season the blue and white squads will not play around half of their scheduled games. If they do manage to play the games, then about half of the dates will be changed. The fact our teams play as many games as they do is a testament to the work done by the volunteers and coaches who keep a constant eye on the fields at the Jeremy McDaniel Memorial Sports Complex. You can fault the weather, but certainly not the efforts of those dedicated people. If by some chance you're reading this while doing a study on Native American rain dances, do me a favor: Wait a couple more weeks before doing any more practice. There are a few more games that need to be played first. |
