The Rector Fire Department responded to a house fire early Monday morning on Second Street in Rector near its intersection with Fordyce. The Marmaduke Fire Deptartment also was called to the scene.

The structure was heavily damaged. The 911 emergency call came in about 2:30 a.m., according to Rector police officer Rockie Weber.

Additional details concerning the fire may be found in Wednesday's print edition of the Clay County Democrat.
